A day in Denver

Today was our full day in Denver.  It began by waiting in traffic, which seems to be a regular routine in this city.  We can't wait to get to LA.  Anyway, we finally got into the city and parked near the US Mint.  We tried to get a tour but they were already booked for the day.  Who knew you needed a reservation to see them make money?  Well we did go to the gift shop and watched the video of them making money.  We then headed to the 16th street mall.  I must say I've never seen this many restaurants in such a small stretch as their.  Well we took the bus to the west end of this area and walked to the Breckenridge Brew Pub where we had lunch.  It's right across from Coors Field where the Colorado Rookies play.  It's a pretty impressive sight.  We then headed back toward the mall area but made a brief stop to buy a glass at the Wynkoop Brewery, continuing on our way back to our starting point and then the car.  We repacked our stuff and got our food and beer and headed a couple of blocks to the Civic Center Park were we had a picnic style dinner and prepared to listen to the Colorado Symphony and watch the light show and fireworks with a few thousand other people.  As we write this tonight we await the start of the show.  The review of the show will be in tomorrow's  post.  Hopefully we won't take too long to get back to the hotel as we must be up at the crack of dawn to go whitewater rafting on the Arkansas River.  Hopefully, we will make it to write tomorrow .  That's it for today.  Miss you all,  Norm & Lynn
PS - We're having issues adding photos to our blog, so if you'd like to see some pics along the way just email me at nfalexander382@gmail.com and I'll send some pics along to you. Sorry about that, but we're having issues trying to add pics to the blog with our iPads.
