The drive to Zion
This is the day (July 25) that we start our serpentining trip east through some National Parks and the southwestern US. We spent the morning packing and making one final stop at the tackiest shop I've ever been in to buy some awesome souvenirs for family and friends. By noontime, we were in the car headed for two nights in Hurricane, Utah with the intention of going to the visitor center at Zion NP once we got checked in this day, spending the next morning touring Zion and then driving to Bryce Canyon NP for the remainder of the day. The drive from Vegas to Hurricane, was pretty, but uneventful (which actually is a good thing) until we got about a hour away from our destination. We stopped in St. George, which is about a half hour from Hurricane and that's when the beauty began. For the next three days we saw the actual beauty the only God could have created. When we got to our hotel, we only had an hour to get to Zion, so we decided to go for a swim instead. We got a pizza for dinner, and prepared for the next days journeys to Zion and Bryce.
