A pretty, but scary day!!!

Good morning, everyone.  It's Friday, July 12th.  The day we had yesterday went from a long drive through some absolutely gorgeous woods to a drive on one of the most scenic, yet scary, I've ever been on.  We left Seattle and headed toward Medford, Oregon, via Crater Lake National Park.  On the way we stopped at an outlet mall, so I could go in the Tommy Bahamas store, just to reminisce.  It was a really nice mall.  We then moved on to Crater Lake.  OMG, it seemed like we would never get there, as it was about 100 miles off the beaten path, but absolutely gorgeous. The rim road around Crater Lake is very narrow, and there are very few guard rails.  So if you're on the inside you're just fine, but on the outside lane it's no shoulder and several thousand feet down.  Needless to say there were some very "white knuckle moments" on the drive around the rim of the lake.  Crater Lake is literally a "diamond in the ruff".  I only wish that we would of had more time to explore the areas surrounding this gem of a National Park.  Maybe more time the next time around.  We then drove to our hotel in Medford, about 80 miles through a different forest, but non-the-less beautiful. Went to Hardee's for some food before we unloaded and got a free meal.  The manager said it was because we had to wait so long.  So ends day 14 of our trip.  Today we're on to California, Eureka is our next stop.
