This entry is for our last day in SanFrancisco. We found our way to the nearest FedEx shipping office to mail a box home. Our skills at this task are getting better each time. The first time we mailed home we had to buy a bag of popcorn filler to fill up the box. Since the bag was so expensive Norm had to cram the left-overs behind his seat! On our way back to the hotel we drove down Lombard Street-the famous curvy street that is seen on postcards. It was quite an experience. The flowers were beautiful but tourists were everywhere, running in the street. We parked at our hotel and walked down to the water. Our transportation this morning was a famous cable car! It was a fun adventure. Part of the cable was down so we only got partway to Union Station. They made everyone get off the cable car and told us to walk 2 blocks and get on the #30 shuttle bus to Union Station. Well, we went the wrong way and had a short walk through China town during the shopping time. The walks were very crowded-no one spoke English- and it smelled like raw fish!!! Eventually we found the right bus and ended up downtown.Union Station is filled with stores. We did some shopping(found an adorable kids store). The cable car took us back to the waterfront were we did more poking around in the shops and ate at the Boudin bakery. We walked back to the hotel. Took a stroll down Union Street, had dinner and headed back to our hotel.
