July 20 - San Diego

The destination for this Saturday was San Diego and it's world famous zoo.  We also want to try and go to the beach today.  The San Diego Zoo is a massive facility that attempts to create the closest thing to the animal's natural environment. We took tons of pictures of animals that are favorites of our friends children Ani and Fiona Klein and also animals that will be in the nursery for Baby Roberts. We spent almost five hours at the zoo and I'm sure there were things we didn't see.  While at the zoo we observed, now wait for it, a local brewery.  We did mange to find theirTasting Room on the soft opening day.  We met Adam our host, had some tastes of the Karl Strauss beer, and of course bought a glass. We then ended our trip to San Diego with a beach stop at LaJolle Beach.  While there we had a little picnic dinner and walked in the Pacific Ocean.  The drive back to our house was awful.  Lots of traffic going very fast, but we made it back unscathed.
